Acting with social responsibility with customers who process and purchase Silver Eagle Recycles materials abroad is crucial to promoting safe and acceptable working conditions for people around the world. Silver Eagle Recycles is committed to maintaining this standard for which we promote social responsibility on our customers and ourselves, as it is essential to our business partners worldwide.
The purpose of this policy is to outline Silver Eagle Recycles international ethics standards and our global guidelines for acting with social responsibility. The basis for this policy is focused on our customers meeting standards based on recognized Silver Eagle Recycles guidelines.
Prior to sale or processing of any material Silver Eagle Recycles will perform an assessment of the customer to verify their compliance with Silver Eagle Recycles ethical standards as outlined below. In the event that a potential customer is not in compliance with the Silver Eagle Recycles Standard, Silver Eagle Recycles will delay engagement until the potential customer comes into compliance. In the event that a current customer falls out of compliance with the Silver Eagle Recycles Standard, Silver Eagle Recycles will give the customer 30 days to correct the deficiency. In the event the customer does not correct the deficiency, Silver Eagle Recycles will terminate its business relationship with that customer.
Customers will comply with all applicable local laws and regulations.
There is no forced, bonded or involuntary prison labor. Workers are not required to lodge "deposits" or their identity papers with their employer and are free to leave their employer after reasonable notice.
Silver Eagle Recycles customers are required to meet or exceed all applicable local laws with regards to workplace safety, including the handling of hazardous material. Silver Eagle Recycles is committed to managing Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) matters as an integral part of our business. Our Health and Safety policies and our Environmental Management System are in place to assure the integrity of our processes and facilities at all times, and at all places. In addition, Silver Eagle Recycles is committed to using suppliers and buyers who are committed to these same principles. Silver Eagle Recycles will not engage with business customers who engage in the use of illegal child labor. Children and young persons under 18 shall not be employed at night or in hazardous conditions. The term "child" refers to a person who is younger than 15, or younger than the age for completing compulsory education in the country of manufacture, whichever is higher. Wages and benefits paid for a standard working week shall meet, at a minimum, national legal standards. Standard working hours shall comply with national laws. Subject to the National and Local laws of where Silver Eagle Recycles customers operate, a policy of equality for all should be in place and there should be no discrimination in hiring, compensation, access to training, promotion, termination or retirement based on race, caste, national origin, religion, age, disability, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, or political affiliation. Physical abuse or discipline, the threat of physical abuse, sexual or other harassment and verbal abuse or other forms of intimidation shall be prohibited.
